Tuesday’s Are Rough

Tuesday’s Are Rough

Got up without hitting the Snooze Button and started to check E-Mail. I got distracted by some minor web-site glitch and it was an hour and a half before I realized that I hadn’t made coffee, eaten my vitamins or for that matter taken a shower and changed out of my pajamas.

That’s probably more than you really wanted to know.

The unspoken part that I love is, I work from my Home office and I work for Me. I won’t pretend there aren’t schedules and priorities. This is a business. Good or bad I’m the one who has to schedule and prioritize. Not so long ago those things were handled by ‘Region’, or WHQ or whoever; you know. Now I do it ‘:) Cool, Huh?

It hasn’t been long since I let go of all that Corporate stuff. Recently enough that I still can enjoy the comparisons. My favorite, NO PAGER at 3AM. I decide who gets my Cell Phone Number. I dabbled around for awhile generating tracking tags for my ads, to get ready for a new ad campaign. Then went into town (15 clicks) about 9:30 for mail and stuff. Good morning. I had notice of $15,000 in deposits, not all E-Biz, but I’ll take it. While in town I figured I may as well take care of some visiting. I do most of my business on-line, but in a small town it’s all ‘Warm Market’, so in case anyone needs anything I’ll stop by and say ‘Hi’. (Actually people out here in the Boonies sometimes need things more than Flat-Landers). We actually do Shopping Trips, or Cabin Fever Trips to Big Cities a few times every winter, just for sanity sake. It’s over 300 clicks to the nearest ‘City’ of about 100,000 people. It always amazes me how going to town for ‘a few things’ can cost so much. I’m glad I have a truck. Anyway, when I got home, Mrs. Robinson, a neighbor lady, came by with a new seed catalog saying “It’s time ya know”. I wasn’t exactly sure what she meant, but Spring is ‘out there somewhere’ I know. We joke around here about the 9 months of Winter and 3 months of rough skiing. Bob Seeger said it, ‘Sanctuary Never Comes Without Some Kind of Risk’.

Well, that’s all for now.
To Your Prosperity,
C. R. Ellsworth
